Who says financial services have to be dull, flat, and uninspiring?

Jane came to me with a brilliant new brand identity but no website to call home. As my Mum, she knew I’d tell it to her straight: financial websites don't have to be boring.

The goal was to create a digital space that felt as warm and approachable as Jane is in person, while navigating the strict compliance rules of the financial world. Working closely with Anna Wooliscroft from Market Avenue for the content, we spent two months (allowing for those all-important industry approvals!) building a robust, high-performance site.

Client:

Jane Jackson Financial Solutions

What they do:

Jane Jackson is a specialist mortgage adviser helping homeowners aged 55+ make the most of their property wealth. Since 2010, she has been a trusted guide through the world of specialist later-life lending and lifetime mortgages.

As a female adviser in the same age bracket as her clients, Jane brings a unique level of empathy and understanding to the table. She knows that for her clients, this is often one of the most significant financial decisions they’ll ever make—so she makes sure they have all the clarity they need to move forward with confidence.

Creating a bright, friendly, and fully compliant online home for Jane Jackson Financial Solutions.

The Roadblock

Jane Jackson (who also happens to be my Mum!) had a brilliant new brand from Disbury Creative but no digital home to put it in. In the world of mortgages and equity release, most websites tend to rely on the same old stock images of retired people looking, well… like stock images. Jane wanted something that felt like her: warm, approachable, and professional without the corporate chill.

The Pit Stop: A bespoke journey in Stoke

Because Jane’s work involves strictly regulated financial services, we couldn’t just “wing it.” This journey took a little longer—about two months—to ensure everything was fully approved by Just Mortgages and perfectly compliant.

I worked from my office in Stoke, using screen shares and catch-ups to fine-tune the details. One of my favourite “magic moments” was taking stock illustrations and completely re-styling and re-colouring them. It saved the site from looking generic and made sure the visuals felt as bright and friendly as Jane herself.

Under the Hood

We didn’t just build a pretty site; we built a resource that helps Jane’s clients feel at ease:

  • In-depth Blog Guides: Anna Wooliscroft from Market Avenue wrote some incredible, deep-dive content. These aren’t just one-off posts; they are evergreen guides that Jane can share on social media for months to come.
  • The FAQ Powerhouse: Topics like later-life lending can feel daunting. We went heavy on the FAQs to answer the big questions upfront, breaking down complex info into manageable, ADHD-friendly chunks.
  • Avada Customisation: As an Avada specialist, I used the builder to create a bespoke layout that handles heavy information without ever feeling “clunky” or overwhelming.

What Jane says

“I love the way that Vicky works and the quality of the websites she creates. Finding someone who understands me and is able to work with the constraints of a fully compliant website was really important. Everybody who has looked at it loves it!”
