From the newsroom, to the studio

My journey didn’t start with code, it started in the fast-paced newsroom of The Sentinel. As a sub-editor producing seven editions a day, I learned how to find the “hook” in every story, and what makes people actually stop and read. Today, I use that same instinct to find the spark in your business. I’m not just designing pages, I’m discovering what makes you smile, and what makes your customers lean in.

Part designer, part business therapist

I’ve been told I’m a bit of a business coach hiding as a website designer, or even a therapist, which I take as a huge compliment. I love to make people feel at ease, and I work best when things are honest, and straightforward.

As a neurodiverse founder (ADHD), I don’t do “square pegs in round holes.” I want to see you doing more of what you love, and less of what you hate, which only happens when we’re brave enough to name the things that light you up.

You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.

Honest advice, for your digital foundations

I’m going to be straight with you, you don’t always need a brand-new website. Sometimes, your budget is much better spent laying some solid digital foundations, or giving your current site a “lick of paint” to get it moving again.

I want your budget to work as hard as possible, so if it’s better to polish what you have and build fresh in a year or two, I’ll tell you. My go-to tools are WordPress and Avada, because they are reliable, flexible, and they get the job done without the faff.

This is me, in the back of a TukTuk during a charity challenge in 2022. where we travelled more than 300 miles in the Peak District.

The TukTuk Philosophy

The name comes from my love for travel, it’s the most vibrant, and exhilarating way to see the world while staying on track. That is exactly the journey I want for my clients, progress, with a bit of a smile along the way.

For a tea drinker like myself - it would have been a crime to now visit the Cameron Highlands in Malayasia on a solo tour of Asia in 2011.

Never has a TukTuk looked so good then on the roads of the Peak Districk.
